Draiman officially running for mayor of LA - 2013

Press release – January 25, 2011

YJ Draiman officially running for mayor of Los Angeles - 2013
"I want to fight for a better future for all the people of Los Angeles, and that's why today I'm announcing my candidacy for mayor," Draiman said.
I decided to run for Mayor of Los Angeles. Before I could make that commitment, I needed to free up the time required to do the job right.  Therefore, I decided to devote full time to the job of Mayor.
I am motivated by the wish to serve the Los Angeles community and protect our quality of life.  I have the skill, experience, long time community involvement and personal commitment to lead the city.  I will work hard to preserve residents’ priorities and the city’s coffers, during the difficult financial times ahead.  Some of my more specific goals are encouraging economic vitality, preserving and improving the City infrastructure, protecting the quality of our neighborhoods, supporting our open space and bicycle trails programs, working with the Neighborhood Councils and the Chamber to encourage local, innovative green businesses, and proper Urban Planning for Los Angeles, among others.
I previously ran for City Council in District 12.
I decided that to do the job right I must run for Mayor.
I am an Energy/Utility Auditor/Consultant for over 20 years.
I am married to a darling wife, we have two grown children – my oldest son is David Draiman a famous Rock Star with a Band by the name Disturbed, my younger son is a Psychologist doing research.
I am looking forward to being elected and serving the people of the City of Los Angeles.
We must work together as a cohesive force to improve our city.
“Transparency and accountability is my motto”

I’m not a politician. You won’t get politically correct doublespeak from me, just the plain facts. The plain facts are often disturbing and as a NC Board Member I’ve never been shy from revealing the sometimes ugly truth about the way the City functions.

Career politicians like the current have no interest in serving the public; rather, they use public office to serve their own interests and those of the small but wealthy cadre of greedy “special interests” who fund their campaigns in return for favors when decisions over controversial matters such as billboards and development have to be made by elected officials.

All too often, the City Council’s actions support the special interests at the expense of the interests of the ordinary people like you and me.

When common sense dictates that our already over-congested streets should not be further burdened by more high-density luxury condominium developments, current elected official’s side with the developers and contractors who funnel campaign contributions to further their interests. We need a Los Angeles with Financial Sustainability that is my goal.

My pledge is for a “City of Los Angeles for the people” not for the politicians and special interests.

  4. Be sure to vote your conscience and not be swayed by money and empty promises.

No candidate should be able to buy his office with money and influence, it defeats the Democratic process.

"To be successful, representative government assumes that elections will be controlled by the citizenry at large, not by those who give the most money. Electors must believe their vote counts. Elected officials must owe their allegiance to the people, not to their own wealth or to the wealth of interest groups who speak only for the selfish fringes of the whole community."

  5. How to expedite America's economic recovery – YJ Draiman
The U.S. and the city of Los Angeles economy could expedite its economic revival by accelerating its hydrocarbon exploration and development. A national policy to enhance the development of hydrocarbon will turn the U.S. into a net exporter of hydrocarbon products. The U.S. must also build additional refining capacity at strategic locations in the U.S. to alleviate fuel shortages and increase its export of refined fuel and natural gas. Allocating a percentage of the revenues for the further development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and the development of water resources and efficiencies, including rainwater harvesting and grey water utilization etc. will further fuel Americas economic revival.

“Those who control the energy supply control whole continents”.

“Those who control the water sources control life”

Another avenue to boost the U.S. economy would be to initiate a program for Made in America products. This would require certain tax benefits to the manufacturer of products in America. Any unemployed American, who returns to the workforce, reduces the dependency for financial and social support by the government. Thus it turns the worker into a revenue generator for the government, while the employee’s earning are spent on goods and services which boosts the economy further.

The city of Los Angeles must make it easy for businesses to thrive. This will create employment and increase revenues to the government and it will create the multiplier effect.

    Multiplier effect definition:
An effect in economics in which an increase in spending produces an increase in national income and consumption greater than the initial amount spent. For example, if a corporation builds a factory, it will employ construction workers and their suppliers as well as those who work in the factory. Indirectly, the new factory will stimulate employment in laundries, restaurants, and service industries and the housing industry which employs builders, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc.

Increasing bureaucracy, taxes and fees depresses the economy, reduces business development, which in turn reduces consumer spending and as a result reduces revenues to the government.

Out of business moved to China – YJ Draiman

Goods produced in China are inferior to American made goods.

Most goods made in China have to be purchased 3 to 4 times to last as long as American goods. So, you think you are saving money by buying Chinese made goods, the answer is no.

As a consumer you should insist on products made in the USA, it is better quality, it retains and creates jobs in the U.S. while keeping the economy going and produces revenues for the government which enables them to provide services to its population.

Producing goods and services in the U.S. is Creating and Sustaining Successful Growth.

Many foreigners make millions exporting products from China to the USA. An American businessman was trying to export products from the USA to China.
He found it impossible. And this is why our country the USA is failing. It is because we allow this unfairness. Many Americans are tired of paying for the infrastructure so the Chinese can sell their wares virtually tax free in the USA and Americans are paying for the roads and everything else to make that possible.

The Great Society is a place where every child can find knowledge to enrich his mind and to enlarge his talents. It is a place where the city of man serves not only the needs of the body and the demands of commerce but the desire for beauty and the hunger for community. It is a place where men are more concerned with the quality of their goals than the quantity of their goods.”

“Those who control the energy supply control whole continents”.

“Those who control the water sources control life”

  7. Are Hoodwinked Angelenos electing failed leaders in 2013?

Who is qualified to be the next mayor of Los Angeles 2013? – I submit: None of the current three elected officials!

Any of the current three elected officials at LA City Hall who are running, who have been in LA City Hall for the past 12 years, do not qualify to be the Mayor of LA. Their past poor performance, their contribution to the current state of affairs is reprehensible. The current three elected officials, who are running, do not deserve to be reelected again for any position in LA City Hall and especially to the position of Mayor in the city of Los Angeles. It would be a travesty if any one of them win the election.

I hope and trust that the people of LA are not as gullible as the current three mayoral candidates who are current elected officials presume. They are counting on fooling the people again. How many times do us Angelenos need to be beaten over the head to declare enough is enough; the corruptions and special favors are over, we are exercising are voting power and we are taking our city back.

It is time for the voters of LA to elect a person who cares about the people of this great city of Los Angeles (a city with a population of about 4 million people and 465 square miles). The current three elected officials at city hall have abused their position; they have failed the people of Los Angeles, being in city hall for the past 12 years is enough of failed governance.

The current three elected officials at LA city hall should get a verbal lynching for their performance. The City of Los Angeles is in its worst condition in this century. The cause of this despicable condition is the product of the current administration.

It is time to break down the political machine in LA; No more business as usual; the buck stops on Election Day, March 5, 2013 and May 21, 2013 for those who need the additional boost.

It is time to elect officials who truly care about the people and the city of LA, officials who exercise their elected position for the good of the people of LA, “not what is in it for me”.

The masses of people in Los Angeles outnumber the special interests groups’ voters at least 8-2. If we all register and vote, we can take back our government. If the voters remain apathetic and refrain from voting, the consequences will be the total collapse of LA City and its government, financially and economically.

Let us elect a new breed of leaders who represent all the people of Los Angeles, not just the select few. We have an opportunity to replace about 70% of LA City Hall.

Let us unify and vote the current administration out of office.

I repeat; Power to the people!

    PS
Current elected officials running for office in Los Angeles 2003 elections are selling a dysfunctional government.

Voters have been confounded, hoodwinked, bamboozled, bluffed, duped, manipulated, seduced, beguiled, flimflammed and sandbagged by a master of deception into believing that there is “no alternative in the opposition”.

  8. Laws can embody standards; governments can enforce laws-but the final task is not a task for the government. It is a task for each and every one of us. Every time we turn our heads the other way when we see the law flouted-when we tolerate what we know is wrong-when we close our eyes to the corrupt because we are too busy, or too frightened-when we fail to speak out-we strike a blow against freedom and decency and justice.
